    A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is licensed to provide language and communication skills services (diagnostic testing, direct speech therapy services) to children and adults in New York State.

    A Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) provides language and communication skills services in the public school setting. In February 2004 the title for this teaching certificate changed to: Speech and Language Disabilities.
